The Whistler Peak chair takes skiers to the summit every couple of minutes which makes the summit the most traveled in British Columbia.

The trails are highly maintained with the area seeing an average of 45 feet of snow each year. The ski trails are suitable for enthusiasts of all skill levels. It used to be that Whistler and Blackcomb were 2 separate area but recently they merged to create one huge resort offering some of the best winter sports found globally. Together they cover an area of over 8,100 acres making it the largest ski area in North America.

At the base of the mountain there is a little village which is well equipped offering stunning hotels, numerous restaurants and bars and vacation homes.

Everyone is excited about Whistler and Vancouver being chosen to host the 2010 Winter Olympics. Men and women’s slalom, giant slalom, bobsled, luge, and the skeleton are scheduled to take place in this area. Due to the Olympics coming many facilities in Whistler and leading to Whistler have been upgraded.
